Our purpose at First Free is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Chirst. We believe that effective Small Groups are one of the most important tools for accomplishing this purpose. Although large group activities can heighten unity in the church, provide teaching and develop visibility, smaller groups that meet in homes allow believers to connect and mature as disciples. In fact, it is as people make a commitment to God, the Bible and significant Christian relationships that spiritual growth flows.

Because being connected to God's Word and God's people is so important to spiritual growth, our goal is to have every member of our church involved in either a Small Group or a Community Group. While most of our Small Groups are sermon-based, some are special interest groups focusing on topics such as Divorce Care, women's issues, etc.

These Small Groups usually require an eleven-week commitment. Comprised of 10-16 people, they meet weekly in homes to share, study God's Word and encourage one another spiritually. Most study a sermon-based curriculum that follows the messages presented during our worship services on Sunday morning. Small Groups meet for three eleven-week sessions from late September through June, taking a break during the summer months.
